Mike Dunleavy’s leisure suit during Bulls 60’s night is totally groovy

Mike Dunleavy went all out in his 1960’s leisure suit and looks like the head coach for the Flint Tropics.

Mike Dunleavy may be injured, but that doesn’t mean he’s not dominating off the bench. The Chicago Bulls were celebrating their 50th anniversary by hosting six decades night.

The Bulls match-up against Oklahoma City just happened to be 60’s night and there was only one outfit, particularly for men, that epitomized that era (including well into the 70’s) and that’s the leisure suit. Check out Dunleavy’s best photos posted up on social media below.

  • Dec. 16: v. Memphis (’70s Night)
  • Jan. 20: v. Golden State (’80s Night/50th Birthday Celebration)
  • Feb. 19: v. Toronto (’90s Night)
  • Mar. 7: v. Milwaukee (2000s Night)
  • Apr. 9: v. Cleveland (2010s Night)

Although we’re pretty sure Dunleavy had this suit hanging up in his closet for the longest time to be used on occasions such as this, we have a lingering feeling it might’ve been worn by his Dad, Mike Dunleavy Sr., who towers well above six feet tall. After all, Dunleavy Sr. certainly grew up in that decade where these suits where all the rage.

Back when training camp started, Mike Dunleavy was sidelined for recovery after undergoing back surgery with a return hanging on the fact that he felt 100 percent. Hoiberg gave Dunleavy an eight-10 week recovery time and according to the latest reports it looks like the eight week time table will be met as his condition has improved.

As far as these awesome outfits go, by the time the next decades night rolls around, Dunleavy very well may be playing. We hope he dresses up anyway before the game.
