Cincinnati Bearcats vs Houston Cougars
The Cincinnati Bearcats will head into Houston, TX, to play the undefeated Houston Cougars. The game will take place at TDECU Stadium.
Houston comes into this game as the No. 25 ranked team in the College Football Playoff ranking. They sit at this spot mostly because they are 8-0 to begin the season. The Cougars mostly recently shutout Vanderbilt 34-0 last week.
They are led by dual-threat quarterback Greg Ward Jr. He has 1,955 passing yards, 11 passing touchdowns and only 2 interceptions this season. On the ground, he has 710 yards and 16 rushing touchdowns, an unbelievable number given he’s only had 122 carries.
Running back Kenneth Farrow is also a big part of the Cougar’s rushing game. He has 128 carries for 751 yards and 9 touchdowns this season.
The Bearcats come into this game at 5-3. They are led by quarterback Gunner Kiel, who is coming off a 15 for 15 passing game against UCF last week. He also had 5 passing touchdowns in the 52-7 victory. Similar play today will be needed to knock off the undefeated Cougars.
Cincinnati also has 2 500-plus yard rushers in Hosey Williams and Tion Green. They have combined for 1,092 yards and 8 rushing touchdowns. Fellow running back Mike Boone has also had a great season for the team, piling up 438 yards on only 48 carries for 9.1 yards per carry. They’ll need this trio of running backs to produce today.
