Jabrill Peppers scored for the second time of his career for Michigan
It’s no secret that the Michigan Wolverines have an almost unstoppable weapon in sophomore defensive back Jabrill Peppers. On the defensive side of the ball and as a kick returner, Peppers is talented enough that he’s liable to make a big play at any moment. Now, Jim Harbaugh is getting him involved in the offense and it’s working quite well.
After scoring his first career touchdown for the Wolverines last week, Harbaugh went to Peppers again in the red zone against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. Peppers got the ball on a lateral in the backfield swinging to the right side of the field. The sophomore then put his elite quickness and speed on display as he danced around the Rutgers defense for 18 yards on his way to the end zone:

If you didn’t know any better, you might be led to believe that Peppers is one of the best running backs in the country after seeing what he does on that play. The fact that he can make runs like that in the offense while being an anchor in the secondary and a force in the return game is just unreal.
Peppers is seemingly carving out a role as a sort of home run threat in the Wolverines offense as the season goes on. Considering that he’s just a sophomore, you have to wonder if that role is only going to increase as we get into bowl season this year and go into next season as well.
