The Buffalo Bills have placed frequently-injured wide receiver Percy Harvin on injured reserve.
Percy Harvin is the latest big-name NFL who has seen his season end due to injury. The wide receiver has not played since October 11 due to both knee and hip problems. Before he was placed on IR, he tallied 218 yards and one touchdown on 19 catches in four games.
As Harvin’s seventh NFL season comes to an end, there has been speculation that the receiver may never take to the field again, choosing retirement instead of another year plagued with injury. During his career, Harvin has suffered from migraine headaches, a torn labrum in his hip, and, most recently, a nagging knee injury. His last 16-game season was in 2011.
Harvin’s career started as the Minnesota Vikings’ 2009 first-round draft pick and continued with the Seattle Seahawks, New York Jets, and, most recently, the Buffalo Bills. He has a career total 4,020 yards, 22 receiving touchdowns, 917 rushing yards, and nearly 4,100 kick return yards, which include five return touchdowns.
As the Bills prepare to take on the Miami Dolphins, depth at wide receiver is a troubling concern. Receiver Sammy Watkins left practice early on Friday with his ankle heavily taped, according to Vic Carucci.

Despite the rough practice and ankle soreness, Watkins is calling the problem “a little tweak” and claimed via ESPN, “I’ll definitely be out there (Sunday).” So far this season, Watkins has 11 catches for 147 yards and two touchdowns.
