The newest James Bond film, Spectre, was released on Friday in the United States, marking the fourth time Daniel Craig has portrayed everyone’s favorite secret agent. However, this might be the last time we see Craig play Bond. According to reports, the 47-year-old actor wants to move on from the Bond franchise, which would leave an opening for the coveted opportunity to play the legendary Bond.
Though Craig has not officially confirmed that he is out as Bond, that has not stopped many from speculating who the next Bond will be. On Friday the New England Patriots made their case for star quarterback Tom Brady to appear as Bond … sort of.
On the team’s official website, the Patriots gave seven reasons why Brady would be an ideal candidate for the role. Among the quarterback’s Bond-like qualities is: “like Bond, he’s gotten better with age.”
The 38-year-old Brady is playing arguably the best football of his career. In seven games, he is second in the league in passing yards (2,410), tied for first in touchdowns (20), and leads all quarterbacks with a 115.8 passer rating. Brady’s passer rating is his highest since the legendary 2007 season, where he threw for a total of 50 touchdowns. The only player to throw 50 or more touchdowns since Brady was longtime rival Peyton Manning, who threw for 55 touchdowns in 2013.
Brady’s Patriots will face Manning’s Denver Broncos on November 29th at 8:30 in the Mile-High City.
