The Pittsburgh Steelers are falling apart this season, as Ben Roethlisberger went down with an injury once again — this time his ankle.
Ben Roethlisberger is hurt again — and the Steelers season appears as though it might be over.
In the fourth quarter of a game that Pittsburgh was winning over the Raiders, Roethlisberger was taken down by Aldon Smith and immediately knew something was wrong. While it didn’t appear to be a knee injury like we saw the quarterback suffer earlier this season, Big Ben was seen shaking his head as team trainers approached him and was clearly aware that something was wrong.
It wasn’t long before the Steelers just rolled their quarterback into the locker room for the second time this season — but this time it’s looking like the team won’t escape the bad news they did the first time around.
Already the Steelers have lost Le’Veon Bell for the rest of the season, have horrid kicking issues they need to iron out and now have lost Roethlisberger for what might be the rest of the season.
Give the Steelers credit though, as they’ve managed to hang in there atop the AFC playoff picture despite everything that has gone wrong. The Landry Jones experience is set to start again, but the gravity has been sucked out of the Steel City and this might be the way this uneven 2015 season ends for the Steelers.
