Ben Roethlisberger was picked off by David Amerson on a pass intended for Antonio Brown in the third quarter of the tied up game.
The Pittsburgh Steelers were tied 21-21 in the third quarter with the Oakland Raiders, and Ben Roethlisberger was in typical form, at least for the past two games, throwing his fourth interception in as many contests.

Big Ben has been criticized a lot this game for his lack of pass distribution. This one is an example of favoring Brown a bit too much. By the third quarter, Brown had been targeted 10 times, and the next highest targeted player was a three way tie of two targets. Simply put, Brown has been Roethlisberger’s favorite all day, and that familiarity paid off for the Raiders in this instance.
Amerson has been active all game, compiling seven tackles. This was his first interception since 2013, and only the second of his career. He is trying to prove himself, as he’s been quite disappointing this season. Most games he has struggled to get more than five tackles, and hasn’t been a present force on defense.
This interception wasn’t crippling for Big Ben and the Pittsburgh Steelers since they had over a quarter left to play. Still, giving the Raiders a chance to take the lead again in this game is dangerous, especially since the Steelers have had some troubles today.
In the first quarter, the Steelers could only get one field goal on the board, but bounced back in the second quarter with 18 points. Before this interception, they had not scored yet in the third quarter, and gave the Radiers a huge advantage to get momentum on their side.
