Back when the And 1 Mixtape Tour was still poppin’, there was a guy by the name of Shane the Dribbling Machine who ran with the crew. He was, well, a dribbling machine.
He never made it to the NBA, but Blake Griffin must have been watching his moves before tonight’s game, because Blake showed off some mighty fine handles late in the fourth quarter.
After grabbing a rebound on the defensive end, Griffin began his journey up the court. At first it was rather ordinary, as he faced a bit of pressure, but nothing he couldn’t handle. Soon, however, he faced a serious problem. Ty Lawson wasn’t giving up his pursuit from behind, and Clint Capela had appeared in his tracks just above the three-point line.
That’s when Blake Griffin turned into Blake the Dribbling Machine. He deftly brought the ball halfway behind his back, then sent it between his legs to slip right between Lawson and Capela.
From there, he coasted in for an easy slam that was part of the Clippers’ furious comeback. (Which was ultimately doomed by a missed goaltending call, but that is neither here nor there.)
