Brandon Marshall made a spectacular touchdown catch for the New York Jets to seal their win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
New York Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall was not expected to play by some, as he was listed as questionable with knee and toe injuries. However, he has ultimately taken the field against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He scored the dagger touchdown by catching a 20-yard pass from quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, and he fought for the ball by diving for it before hauling it in. Here is a video of Marshall showing that he’s still got it despite his age and expected decline.
Marshall now has four catches for 44 yards and a touchdown, and the Jets essentially put the game away with Marshall’s touchdown. The Jaguars only trailed by five points until the Jets scored with just under three minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. Marshall continues to be a consistent NFL wide receiver even after he was expected decline in the Jets offense. As of his touchdown catch, Marshall has 54 receptions with 730 receiving yards and five touchdown catches.
Meanwhile, the Jets will boost their record to 5-3 assuming they can hold on for the win. Fitzpatrick has proven to be a serviceable quarterback for the Jets. This has helped their offense become respectable and helped the team emerge as surprise playoff contenders. It remains to be seen whether the Jets can continue to surprise the NFL and snag a playoff spot.
