Cam Newton’s Carolina Panthers might actually be the best team in the NFC. His touchdown to Corey “Philly” Brown put the Panthers up 27-7 over Green Bay.

The Carolina Panthers are looking like the best team in the NFC. Cam Newton’s 39-yard touchdown pass to Corey “Philly” Brown put the Panthers up big on the NFC North juggernaut, the Green Bay Packers. After the touchdown and point after attempt, the Panthers led the Packers 27-7.

Newton is playing at an MVP level through the first half of 2015. Even if his weapons on offense aren’t on par with the rest of the NFL’s contending teams, the Panthers are 7-0 and two losses ahead of the Atlanta Falcons in the improved NFC South. Having their way with the Packers might mean that the Carolina Panthers are the NFC favorites from here on out.

Newton had all the time in the world and perfectly placed the football where only Brown could get it. Not really sure how the coverage was that badly blown, but Brown had both defensive backs beaten easily when he caught the 39 yard touchdown pass to make it 26-7 Carolina Panthers over the Green Bay Packers.

Green Bay did give up over 500 yards passing at home to Philip Rivers and the lackluster San Diego Chargers a few weeks ago. So it isn’t all that shocking to see the talented Panthers and their Heisman Trophy winning quarterback march their way down the field with relative ease.

If this is a precursor to the NFC Championship game later on this winter, either Green Bay’s pass defense needs to get it together or maybe somebody else will emerge as the second best team in the NFC. The path to the Super Bowl may not go through Lambeau Field as originally thought. It may go through the Hornet’s Nest in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Panthers look incredible.
