Emmanuel Sanders wakes up Broncos offense with 64-yard touchdown (Video)
The Broncos offense came alive in the second half with a 64-yard touchdown to Emmanuel Sanders
The Denver Broncos shockingly couldn’t get anything going offensively against the Indianapolis Colts in the first half of Sunday’s game. Peyton Manning couldn’t get the passing game rolling and neither C.J. Anderson nor Ronnie Hillman was moving the ball on the ground. All it took was one big play from Emmanuel Sanders early in the third quarter to get things heading in the right direction for Denver.
After forcing the Colts off the field to start the second half, the Broncos handed off to Hillman unsuccessfully on the first two plays of the ensuing drive. Then, Manning dropped back a let a deep throw fly. Sanders was running behind the Indianapolis secondary as the ball fell into his hands and he continued across the goal line for the score:
Even if Manning doesn’t have the same velocity that he once did on his throws and can’t throw it quite as deep as he once could, that doesn’t always matter when such dangerous weapons as Sanders and Demaryius Thomas are at his disposal. With how those two receivers can blow by defensive backs in their routes and then out-run the pursuit, the Broncos are still always capable of breaking open a big play like this.
