The Carolina Panthers won their 12th consecutive regular season game on Sunday with a close victory over NFC foe Green Bay. With every game, the Panthers look to be better than the week prior.
This contest started out as a bonafide blowout, with the Panthers jumping out to leads of 27-7 and 37-14. And then Aaron Rodgers and the Packers woke up and decided to start scoring points. Green Bay stormed back to within seven points and a first and goal opportunity. However, the Packers failed on four consecutive plays in the games final few minutes to get anywhere near the end zone.
For the second straight week the Packers were put on their keisters by a team with a superior defense. Mike McCarthy needs to get back in the lab with a pen and a pad, and recalibrate.
As for the Panthers, well, hold course and keep on keeping on. This game was all about Cam Newton, who, at every week, is doing his best to validate his $100 million contract.
