Washington Redskins center Josh LeRibeus lost his helmet and bloodied his face badly against the Patriots. He manned up and only missed one play.

Football players are known for being tough. They typically endure countless injuries and sprains throughout a season. Josh LeRibeus might be one of the toughest players in the NFL after enduring a bloodied face and only missing one play. LeRibeus lost his helmet at the beginning of a play against the New England Patriots on Sunday and immediately went to the ground holding his head. When he got up, he was wearing a crimson mask of his own blood.

That’s a pretty epic facial expression. It looks like LeRibeus got a bit lucky, as the cut seems to be pretty close to his eye. It could have been far worse for LeRibeus. Had it been a few inches lower, he might have suffered damage to his eye. Here’s a video of the entire play.

It looks like LeRibeus got inadvertently head-butted by his teammate Brandon Scherff. Scherff has largely been a disappointment so far in his rookie season. He was drafted by the Redskins with their fifth overall pick of the 2015 NFL Draft and has struggled this season with pass protection.

LeRibeus was drafted by the Redskins in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft. He was the 71st overall pick of the draft. He has played in just 19 games so far in his career and started just three entering Sunday’s action. LeRibeus is okay and only missed one play.
