Kevin Durant probably didn’t mean to pass off his butt, but it worked out well for him

In case you had forgotten while he was out injured last season, Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant is a phenomenal basketball player. While he was recovering from his foot injury last season, he may have even picked up a new trick or two—like how to get assists using his rear-end.

Durant and the Thunder were taking on the Phoenix Suns on Sunday evening and the 2014 MVP was attacking the basket when he tried to spin and throw a behind-the-back pass. He lost control of the ball slightly, but it somehow bounced up off Durant’s butt and deflected through the defense into the hands of Andre Roberson for the score:

There’s a 100 percent chance that was completely accidental on the part of Durant, as evidenced by the fact that he’s looking for the ball while it’s hitting him in the backside. Regardless, that looked like something you’d see on the And1 Mixtape Tour back in the day.

Durant has been just unreal in his return to the court this season. Coming into Sunday’s game against Phoenix, he was averaging 29.8 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.7 blocks per game while shooting 48.4 percent from the floor and 42.5 percent from deep. If he’s capable of putting up those kind of numbers and can now make plays for his teammates using his butt without even trying, everyone else in the league might as well just give up now.
