The Titans and Saints are taking part in a shootout in New Orleans where Tennessee tied it on an eight-yard bullet pass from Marcus Mariota to Justin Hunter
The Tennessee Titans are in a shootout with the New Orleans Saints as both teams have been lighting it up inside the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Marcus Mariota took the snap from eight yards out and subtly moves to his right, but before he can even begin to think about continuing to scramble he sees wide receiver Justin Hunter breaking free on a slant route.
The rookie quarterback delivered a strike into the chest of the third-year receiver for his first touchdown catch of the season.
Drew Brees has gone for over three hundred yards through the air and has three passing touchdowns on the day, while also adding a rushing touchdown. His huge day Sunday comes after throwing for an unreal 505 yards and seven touchdowns the week before against the Giants in another shootout which ended with a Saints win at 52-49.
It is probably safe to say that Saints defensive coordinator Rob Ryan is not happy at all about the team’s performance over the past two games. As for their opponent, the rookie quarterback for the Titans is doing his best to match the veteran Brees as he has three touchdown passes as well on the night as he and his Titans look for their second win of the season.
Tennessee fired their head coach Ken Whisenhunt earlier this week and they look to find new life under interim coach Mike Mularkey.
