The Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Oakland Raiders, 38-35, at Heinz Field. However, the Raiders are leaving the stadium in much better shape for the AFC playoffs.

Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was carted off the field in the fourth quarter after injuring his left foot/ankle on a sack by Aldon Smith. Roethlisberger’s ankle bent awkwardly on the play and he hopped to the cart without being able to put any weight on it. Before leaving the game, Roethlisberger threw for 344 yards on 24-of-44 passing with a pair of touchdowns and an interception. Derek Carr also had a huge game, throwing for 301 yards and a quartet of touchdowns.

Highlights

Three Stars

1. Antonio Brown

Brown was nothing short of incredible on Sunday afternoon. Brown caught a franchise-record 17 passes for 284 yards, almost accounting for half of Roethlisberger’s targets. The Raiders could not guard Brown at all in the first half, allowing 180 receiving yards.

2. DeAngelo Williams

After watching running back Le’Veon Bell tear ligaments in his knee, many believed the Steelers would be devoid of a rushing attack. Instead, Williams has come in to lead the charge. Williams ran for 170 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 27 carries. It was an impressive showing from the veteran.

3. Amari Cooper

Cooper continues to look like a true up-and-coming receiver in the NFL. The former Alabama Crimson Tide star caught seven passes for 88 yards and a touchdown, torching Pittsburgh’s secondary throughout the game. Cooper almost had a second touchdown, but could not drag his second foot in bounds.

Odds

Pittsburgh was favored by four points and did not cover the spread against Oakland in a close game.

Next week

The Raiders will be hosting the Minnesota Vikings at O.co Coliseum while the stay at home to play the Cleveland Browns.
