San Francisco 49ers running back Reggie Bush plans on suing the city of St. Louis, Mo., over an injury he suffered last week.
During last Sunday’s game against the St. Louis Rams inside the Edward Jones Dome, San Francisco 49ers running back Reggie Bush suffered a freak knee injury. Following a rushing attempt, Bush was pushed out of bounds. He would end up slipping and tearing his MCL in one of the more bizarre injuries of the NFL season. He will be forced to miss the 49er’s remaining games.
Well, Bush is planning on taking legal action for this injury.
According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, Bush has hired an attorney and is planning on suing the city of St. Louis over this incident. The attorney he hired is Shawn Holley and her firm. She was a member of the O.J. Simpson legal team working with Johnnie Cochran.
This kind of stance from Bush is unprecedented. However, he may be looking to pick up money given the state of his career. He’s a 30-year-old running back and given the history of players at that position at his age, a decrease in production is likely, especially given the severity of the injury he suffered. This could make this legal case the last big pay-day of Bush’s career if this is the last we see of him on an NFL field. There’s no word on how much he’s suing the city of St. Louis for.
This situation is still developing and we’ll see going forward how much money Bush is looking for from St. Louis.
