Sammy Watkins came up big for the Bills in the second half against the Dolphins

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Sammy Watkins has been one of the more vocal players in the NFL this season and for all the wrong reasons. He’s complained about his role in the offense on a couple of occasions and has essentially says that he needs more targets for the Bills to receive. While the “me-first” attitude isn’t a great look, he might have a point considering how big he came up against the Miami Dolphins in Week 9.

Nearing the end of the fourth quarter, the Bills were struggling to pull away in a game they had dominated for most of the action. However, Watkins changed that quickly as he broke free of the coverage and was hit with a beautifully thrown ball from Tyrod Taylor in the end zone:

They don’t make touchdown throws much prettier than that. Only Watkins was ever going to be able to get his hands on that deep ball and he’s talented and athletic enough to get there and make the grab for the score.

That catch only added to a monster day for Watkins through only three quarters. The touchdown was his sixth reception of the day and the 44 yards put his total at 148 for the day. While chirping about wanting more this and that within the context of a team isn’t always a positive, perhaps Rex Ryan should listen to his talented wide receiver when he says to get him the ball. It seems to work out pretty well.
