During a game against the Los Angeles Clippers, Houston Rockets center Dwight Howard responded to a heckler, urging him to “let it go.”

Dwight Howard can’t escape his days as a Los Angeles Laker, not even when he’s playing against the Los Angeles Clippers.

A fan at the Houston Rockets/Los Angeles Clippers game heckled Howard, telling him that he “couldn’t run the floor,” and alluded to his days as a Los Angeles Laker. His daughter recorded the situation and put the videos on Twitter.

Dwight played in Los Angeles for the Lakers in the 2012-13 season, and it didn’t go well, to put it lightly. Kobe Bryant and Howard had a falling out and still don’t get along, and Howard’s image in the basketball world was tarnished by poor play that he was involved in, leading to an early first round exit for the Lakers in the playoffs that year. Howard’s 17.1 points per game in 2013 was his lowest since 2006.

Now, this fan was just having a little bit of fun, but still is that fan that we all hate, and never want to end up sitting in front of at a basketball game. The scoring table probably had to hear quite a bit of him throughout the night, as it looks like he wasn’t afraid to address any players that came up to check in.

Howard entertained the fan, telling him at times, responding with, “it’s okay,” when the fan yelled, “you ain’t never gonna win!” at him. Towards the end of the confrontation, Dwight responded to the Lakers comments, telling the fan, “it’s been three years. Let it go.”

Howard isn’t having a spectacular year in Houston, but is still putting up 17.0 points per game and pulling in 12.3 rebounds.
