Magic guard Evan Fournier finished a nice fast break dunk before face-planting on the floor

Evan Fournier has been enjoying arguably the best run of his career to start the 2015-16 for the Orlando Magic. The 23-year-old guard/forward has been a terrific addition to a feisty young Magic team and has been one of their most reliable contributors on offense. One of his early offensive contributions against the Indiana Pacers on Monday night didn’t end so well, though.

The Magic wing got loose on a fast break and created space from trailing Pacers defenders to finish the play with a nice dunk, despite a chase-down block attempt from Paul George. Possibly because of that George block attempt, Fournier tumbled down from the rim awkwardly and ended up going face-first into the floor:

Fournier got up and was fine after the play, which is certainly comforting considering how bad that could have ended up. Now that we’re sure he’s fine, I’m sure there will be some ribbing coming his way from teammates about him not being able to land on his feet after that dunk.

The fact that Fournier escaped that play without any kind of injury is huge for the Magic as they try and make some noise in the Eastern Conference. Orlando has a number of solid defenders out on the perimeter, but few players who can produce offensively the way that Fournier has through their first seven games of the season. To keep him around to fill that role for them, the Magic might want to let him know that landing on your face after a dunk is ill-advised.
