Indiannopolis Colts rookie defensive end, Henry Anderson, has been placed on IR , after fears he has suffered a torn ACL.

Henry Anderson, a 3rd rookie from Stanford, looks to have torn his ACL based on initial tests and will be out for the season. Chuck Pagano and the Colts have placed him on IR, meaning he will be unable to return this year. Pagano has since stated: “”Henry Anderson got a pretty significant knee injury. I don’t know how bad it is right now, but he’ll have an MRI.” The MRI will confirm the nature of the injury, but the Colts will not the see defensive end on the field again this year.

Andrew Luck and his Colts shocked the NFL world when they pulled out the victory, ending the Broncos unbeaten season and delaying Peyton Manning’s record breaking career for one more game. Positivity surrounded the Colts after the win, but losing Anderson will certainly be a major blow.

Henry Anderson stood at 6-foot-6 and 294 pounds. He was an athlete with good strength, and had applied himself well since replacing veteran Art Jones, who underwent ankle surgery in the summer and is also injured reserve. The loss is a big blow to the Colts who look as though they will win the AFC South again and head to the post season. With a nice schedule down the stretch, Luck and his Colts had built some momentum with the surprise victory, but Henry Anderson will be a big miss to an already struggling Colts defense.
