LeBron James was happy to be going against Paul George once again

The Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Indiana Pacers on Sunday afternoon by a score of 101-97. It was a matchup that showcased two of the best players in the league in LeBron James and Paul George. Their friendly rivalry began back when LeBron was in Miami, but that rivalry was put on hold last season as George recovered from a gruesome leg injury suffered in the offseason. Apparently, LeBron missed their battles.

After George missed the final shot to try and give the Pacers an inkling of a shot at a comeback, he and LeBron met at mid-court on the sideline. That’s when LeBron looked at PG-13 and said, “Glad to have you back” followed by, “Missed you, boy:”

There’s no question that George, particularly with how he’s looked to start this season, and James are going to have a rivalry that will last for several more years beyond this point. It’s refreshing to see that the two player involved in the rivalry have an appreciation for how special it is to the fans who have watched it grow.

As for George, he finished Sunday’s game against Cleveland with 32 points, 11 rebounds and six assists, notching another truly impressive performance in what has been a proverbial return to stardom for the Pacers forward. I think we can all agree with LeBron in that it is, indeed, good to have PG-13 back in the league and looking like his old self.
