A no-trade clause isn’t earmarked on Andrew Miller’s four year contract and some teams have been asking the Yankees about their closer.

The market is particularly hot for star closers in the MLB for 2016 and it looks like Andrew Miller might be fresh on the market despite a somewhat stellar 2015 season with the Yankees that saw a 2.04 ERA over 60 pitched games.

According to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports, Yankees general manager Brian Cashman may be all ears when it comes to offers from other teams looking for another closer.

"“We’re open to all ideas – as always when specifically asked about Miller’s availability. “It doesn’t mean I’d do anything but if the Dutch never asked the Indians for Manhattan you’d be living in New Jersey.”"

Miller is into year two of his four year contract with trades as a possibility thanks to the lack of a no-trade clause. According to Heyman, the Detroit Tigers, Arizona Diamondbacks, Boston Red Sox, Houston Astros, and Toronto Blue Jays are all teams that are currently on the lookout for star closers. However, a deal involving Boston or Toronto is unlikely as the Yankees will not deal Miller within the division.

Miller isn’t the only closer in their arsenal as they have 1.50 ERA stud Dellin Betances whose 2014 and 2015 season showed Betances dominating with a combined eleven wins in two years.

This all comes off of a Yankees team that is still licking their wounds from a Wild Card loss against the Houston Astros. When performance isn’t up to par for the team, it looks like anyone can be put on the chopping block if it means turning the tide on a an average season.
