Kevin Durant left Tuesday night’s game against the Washington Wizards with a hamstring injury and will not return.

All eyes were on Kevin Durant Tuesday night as he made his return to his hometown to play the Washington Wizards. Durant got off to a sizzling start as he recorded a double double in the first half by scoring 14 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.

The second half was not so kind to Durant.

Durant tweaked his hamstring and was forced to leave the game early in the third quarter. He was pronounced out for the remainder of the game shortly after.

Hamstring injuries are very tricky to assess and can linger on for a while if they are not properly treated. Durant missed most of last year with a foot injury so the Thunder should be careful with him and this injury. Resting him until he’s fully healthy is the route OKC should be taking.

Hopefully it is just a minor strain for Durant. The NBA is much better when he is playing and performing at the level that he is right now. Durant has been on a tear to start the season as he is averaging 30.1 points per game on 50.3 percent shooting.
