The New York Jets were favored to beat the Buffalo Bills on Thursday Night Football at MetLife Stadium, but things have not been going to plan in the early going. New York fell behind Buffalo, 22-3, in the third quarter, but are beginning to show signs of life.

In the third quarter, Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick found receiver Brandon Marshall, who was able to beat a few Bills defensive backs and find his way into the end zone for a 14-yard touchdown strike.

Marshall is in his first year with the Jets, his fourth team in the National Football League. Marshall began his career with the Denver Broncos before moving onto the Miami Dolphins and eventually the Chicago Bears, who traded him to New York for a sixth-round pick this offseason.

The Jets are 5-3 on the season and currently the fifth seed in the AFC playoff picture. A loss would knock them down to 5-4 and put them into a tie with the Bills for second place in the AFC East. However, Buffalo would hold the tiebreaker for the time being, with the two teams set for a rematch this winter at Ralph Wilson Stadium.
