Hulk Hogan: John Cena would be a good heel in WWE

Hulk Hogan is of the belief, like a lot of other people, that John Cena could not only pull off a heel turn, but he’d be good at it

When it comes to the world of WWE, there are a lot of different topics people like to rant and rave about. However, there is one topic in particular that sort of takes precedence over everything else, that being the possibility of John Cena becoming a heel (bad guy). After being the top babyface (good guy) of the company for nearly an entire decade now, there are those that believe a change in character is long overdue.

It’s not just fans that are weighing in as to whether or not Cena should turn to the dark side, but wrestlers from the past as well. Well, one of those wrestlers from the past is someone who knows better than anyone about throwing away the good character for a bad one: Hulk Hogan.

In a recent interview with Radio Yorkshire in England to promote an upcoming tour, Hogan noted that not only could Cena make the turn, but he’d be able to make it work as well.

"Yeah, I mean, God, I hate to keep saying it, ‘never say never’, but with Vince McMahon’s machine and the WWE and the writers and John [Cena]‘s talent, his talent alone. If he were to turn heel and let him go, let John go, and pull that edge out of John, ooh boy, he’d be a good heel."

Again, if anyone would know about this, it’s Hogan. Back in 1996 when he was in WCW, Hogan pulled the trigger on becoming a bad guy when he created the nWo with Scott Hall and Kevin Nash after years of being the poster child for everything that was good in wrestling. Not only was his turn successful, but it added intriguing years onto Hogan’s career that otherwise would not have been there.

Of course, this is a different time in wrestling here in 2015 with WWE being PG. Turning Cena, who does more Make-A-Wishes than any other celebrity on the planet, as well as making countless other charitable appearances, is a pretty big risk.

However, it seems to be a risk that Hogan thinks is worth taking.
