Week 10 (QB) – The Peak, Weak, and Sneak of the Week!
The Peak, Weak, and Sneak of the Week!
Let’s get this out-of-the-way, last weeks ‘Weak of the Week’ quarterback did not pan out as expected, as Aaron Rodgers threw for 356 yards, 4 touchdowns, and 1 interception against a good Carolina Panthers defense. There were better options available, but he put up 36.96 points in DraftKings.
If you are new to this article, thank you for reading! The ‘Peak, Weak, and Sneak of the Week’ column will be a weekly article about three quarterbacks that I believe could impact your DraftKings lineup in a positive or negative manner. The three categories are below:
Peak – A quarterback I like most this week, based on matchup, and their cost.
Weak – A quarterback who a lot of analysts are high on, or has a large price tag that will not be worth their cost.
Sneak – A quarterback sleeper for the week. A low-cost quarterback with boom potential.
‘Peak of the Week’ – Aaron Rodgers: ($7500) – Yes, the Green Bay Packers have looked lost the past few weeks. Rodgers basically ran a two-minute offense to even give the Packers any chance against the Panthers. Yes, Eddie Lacy, 2013 rookie of the year has been demoted to second string behind the 6 year veteran out of Buffalo, James Starks.
Rodgers is the second most expensive QB play this week, behind Tom Brady ($8600), but I think Rodgers puts up the most points this week. Why? The Packers get to play a Detroit Lions team who have not won in Lambeau since 1991. I was two years old.

The Lions defense has given up the 5th most fantasy points to quarterbacks (20.09) on average, per game. The Lions secondary has also allowed 300+ yard passers in half (4/8) of their games this season.
The Packers desperately need to get back on track, and the best way for them to do that is to let the best player in the world throw the ball all over Lambeau. Rodgers rarely turns the ball over, and the Lions are not a team who intercepts many passes with 4 through 8 games. Rodgers should put up colossal numbers this week against a weak Lions secondary and defense.
‘Weak of the Week’ – Drew Brees ($7400) – Brees has had a solid season up to this point and had another solid game last week where he threw for 387 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 1 interception, albeit in a loss to the Tennessee Titans.
This week, Brees has a more difficult task in facing the Washington Redskins.
The Redskins, who played a tough New England Patriots team last week, only give up 253.5 yards a game and 1.6 touchdowns per game. The Redskins have 4 interceptions in their last 4 games, and I believe that trend will continue as Drew Brees has thrown 7 this season, which is just a smidge under 1 a game.
Through his career, Brees has thrown 1.08 yards per attempt less outside in the elements than when playing in a dome (6.92 outdoor vs 8.00 indoor). I think Brees has an OK game against Washington, just don’t believe he is worth the price and believe he will turn the ball over once or twice.

‘Sneak of the Week’ – Blake Bortles ($5600) – Let me start this off by saying the Jacksonville Jaguars are not a good football team. In saying that, my ‘Sneak of the Week’ is Blake Bortles.
Bortles or ‘Bortle-Service’ has the luxury of playing the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, who happen to have a horrendous secondary. The Ravens defense have given up the second most fantasy points to Quarterbacks (22.27), while allowing 300.8 yards per game and 2.0 touchdowns.
Bortles has thrown 10 interceptions up to this point in the season. I would not worry about the interceptions due to the fact the Ravens secondary does not intercept the ball, averaging .4 a game, and only having one interception as a defense in their past 5 games.
Bortle-Service has played better on the road, than at home this season:
WEEK | Completions | Attempts | YARDS | TD | INT |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Home | 83 | 155 | 969 | 8 | 6 |
Away | 92 | 156 | 1224 | 9 | 4 |
I like this trend to continue, so hop on board, grab some champagne and use the Bortle-Service in your DraftKings line-up this weekend!
