Teddy Bridgewater questionable versus Raiders
By John Buhler
Teddy Bridgewater is questionable for the Minnesota Vikings’ Week 10 road game vs. the Oakland Raiders. Bridgewater suffered a concussion in Week 9 versus the St. Louis Rams.
According to NFL national reporter James Palmer, the Minnesota Vikings starting running quarterback Teddy Bridgewater is questionable for the team’s Week 10 road game versus the Oakland Raiders. Palmer also said that linebacker Anthony Barr is questionable, while linebacker Eric Kendricks is doubtful.
Though the Vikings beat the Rams last week to move to 6-2 on the year, the though of not having Teddy Bridgewater at quarterback in a touch road game against 4-4 Oakland doesn’t sound promising. Bridgewater suffered a concussion on a roughing the passer penalty levied on St. Louis Rams cornerback Lamarcus Joyner. Joyner received a $23,152 fine from the NFL for the hit.
Joyner said he did expect the NFL to fine him for knocking Bridgewater out of the game. “I can’t fix what happened. I know in my heart that it wasn’t intentional and I sincerely apologize for it. I hope he’s ready to go for his team on Sunday and continues to win football games for them, because that’s a good organization over there.”
Bridgewater was a full participant in Thursday’s practice before the Vikings travel to Oakland. Both Teddy Bridgewater and Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr are two of the more exciting young passers in the NFL. Since they play in opposite conferences, it would be a shame to not see these two promising young quarterbacks play against each other.
Both Minnesota and Oakland have playoff berths on their mind. Minnesota is atop the NFC North with Green Bay at 6-2. Oakland is a few games back of 7-1 Denver in the AFC West, but are certainly in the mix for a Wild Card berth at 4-4. If Bridgewater can’t go, expect his backup Shaun Hill to get the Week 10 start for the Minnesota Vikings.
