46. Folsom Field (Colorado)

There was a time when Colorado was one of the best teams in the Big Eight Conference, now known as the Big 12, and now the Buffaloes are nothing more than a forgotten program in the Pac-12.

Each year, there are hopes that they will finally sniff a winning record, but that hasn’t happened since 2005. In fact, the Buffaloes have reached just five bowl games since 2000 and none since 2007.

Folsom Field still has a lot of historical value behind it, though. It is one of the oldest stadiums in the nation, opening in 1924, and it has seen a national title team in 1990 and a Heisman winner in tailback Rashaan Salaam take the field in 1994.

While this program may be somewhat irrelevant right now, the Buffaloes have a great tradition of winning and especially at home. Through the 2015 season, the Buffaloes have a 303-168-14 record on their home turf, which is not bad for a program that has lost most of its games over the past decade. You have to believe it was a much higher win percentage before Colorado became a mediocre 3-9 type of program.

Besides being nearly 100 years old, the 53,613 seat capacity stadium has one of the most scenic backdrops in college football with a picturesque view of mountains and during dusk, there might not be a more breathtaking visual in college football.

Too bad these fans have been long suffering because if Folsom Field was packed every Saturday, the Buffaloes would have an ideal selling point for recruits.
