Kansas Jayhawks vs. No. 15 TCU Horned Frogs

A couple of teams are getting a chance at redemption this week as the No. 15 TCU Horned Frogs looked to be skating by ever so slightly against inferior teams all season long and they got burned a week ago against the now-No. 8 Oklahoma State Cowboys by nearly three full scores.

Trevone Boykin had a game to forget as the Heisman candidate threw five interceptions and just one touchdown pass in the heartbreaking defeat — usually he has about five touchdowns and one interception. Can’t tear him down for one poor performance, though, as he’s been incredible all year long, passing for 3,373 yards, 29 touchdowns and nine interceptions.

Kansas, on the other hand, is having a historically poor season, on pace to finish the year without a victory as the Jayhawks are currently 0-9 and haven’t really come close to even competing in any of their games in conference play.

This one might get ugly as Kansas allows 330 passing yards per game, one of the worst marks in the country, and Boykin is known to exploit defenses through the air. Josh Doctson should also be healthy in this one for TCU despite suffering a scare last week with a wrist injury.

Head coach Gary Patterson didn’t help matters when he misspoke and said that Doctson would be out for the year. Luckily he is not. The Horned Frogs are going to need his 78 catches for 1,315 yards and 14 touchdowns if they want to make the College Football Playoff.
