Ohio State linebacker Darron Lee got lit up, but his mom wasn’t having any weakness from her son
Ohio State Buckeyes linebacker Darron Lee is one of the most talented young defensive players in the country. The sophomore linebacker was phenomenal last year in his first full season with the Buckeyes and his role has only grown in his second year as a defensive starter. However, his role on special teams led to him taking a big hit on Saturday against the Illinois Fighting Illini during a punt return:

Lee was absolutely rocked on that play and had to leave the game for a bit. However, his mother took to Twitter to let everyone know that she wasn’t concerned. In fact, she showed no sympathy at all and was all about tough love with her response to the hit:
She has absolutely no chill at all with that tweet and it’s fantastic. All athlete moms should be on Twitter, especially when they are willing to say things like this.
Lee apparently followed his mother’s advice and “rubbed some dirt on it” after taking a few plays off. He returned to the game, apparently just having the wind knocked out of him. If that’s how his mother reacts to a hit like that, it’s not surprising that he would be willing to tough it out.
