Keys to Victory

Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks are 4-4 through their first eight games of the season, which is something they nor a lot of other people saw coming for the two-time defending NFC Champions. They’ve struggled to score points and Russell Wilson has fought some turnovers, as he’s thrown six interceptions to his nine touchdowns.

That’s what needs to change here. They need a big game from Wilson where he can stretch the field with the passing game while at the same time limiting his turnovers. The balance is what has made this team great the past few seasons and they need to get that back, especially if they want to get a leg up on the team that’s running their division right now, the Arizona Cardinals.

On defense, with facing Carson Palmer, this is also the game this season where the “Legion of Boom” has to be at their absolute best.

Arizona Cardinals

Right now, the Cardinals are enjoying a two-game lead in the NFC West, and they have a chance on Sunday night to put one of the teams on their heels down a peg. The Cardinals are on top because they’ve been wildly efficient on offense, especially in the passing game with Palmer. They’re fourth in passing yards per game, which is great, but if they want to beat the Seahawks they need to get the running game going and not test that Seattle secondary too much. Have they been at their best this season? No, not by any means, but we know that Seattle secondary can turn it all on at a moment’s notice.

We saw a few weeks ago on Monday Night Football that veteran running back Chris Johnson still has a lot in the tank when he torched the Ravens, and the Cardinals will need a similar performance from him on Sunday night to throw the Seahawks defense off of their game.

Betting Odds

Point Spread: Seahawks -3
Moneyline: Cardinals +135, Seahawks -145
O/U: 43.5

Prediction

The Arizona Cardinals with their 6-2 record have been enjoying a phenomenal year thus far, and they have a chance on Sunday night to really assert their dominance within the division if they can take down the Seahawks. With the way that this offense has been clicking, coupled with what the Seahawks have been unable to do on the defensive side of the ball, Arizona will be moving to 7-2 by the time this one is in the books and really showing everyone that they’re not going anywhere in the NFC title chase during the second half of the year.

Prediction: Cardinals 24, Seahawks 17
