Ben Roethlisberger will be active for the Steelers in Week 10, but he won’t be in his normal role.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have been killed by injuries this season, and in Week 10 against the Cleveland Browns they will be short-handed once again.
In the Steelers’ win against the Oakland Raiders, Ben Roethlisberger was injured for the second time this season. After returning from a knee injury suffered against the St. Louis Rams, Roethlisberger will now have to deal with a lingering foot injury for the rest of the year.
The Steelers do have the fortune of playing the Browns in Week 10, which means that they can survive without Roethlisberger for one week.
With Roethlisberger sitting, it will be Landry Jones getting the start on Sunday. Jones has played surprisingly well for the Steelers this season, as he has been forced into action multiple times with injuries to Roethlisberger and Michael Vick.
In three games, Jones has totaled 456 passing yards, three passing touchdowns, and two interceptions. Jones’ best moment came at home against the Arizona Cardinals, as he came in off the bench and led the Steelers to a win with two touchdown passes in the game. In his one start, Jones didn’t play particularly well against the Kansas City Chiefs, as the Steelers lost to them on the road.

Jones will be getting another crack at being a starter with Roethlisberger not quite at 100%, though Big Ben will back up Jones in case anything goes wrong.
Even without Roethlisberger, the Steelers have plenty of weapons to support Jones. DeAngelo Williams has been playing excellent filling in for Le’Veon Bell, and Antonio Brown is one of the best receivers in football – against the Browns that should be enough to get a win.
The Steelers have their bye week in Week 11, and it appears the Roethlisberger will be back and ready for a big game against the Seattle Seahawks on the road in Week 12.
