What teams could be the best fit for Atlanta Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman?

The Atlanta Braves have been in full rebuilding mode. This began last year when former Cleveland Indians general manager John Hart took over the Braves’ front office and made sweeping changes. He most notably traded Jason Heyward to the St. Louis Cardinals, Justin Upton and Craig Kimbrel to the San Diego Padres and Evan Gattis to the Houston Astros. The result was a bunch of prospects coming back to Atlanta, who may be good in a few years, but means they will be putting a not-so-competitive team on the field. This led to a 67-95 record for the 2015 season.

To make the on-field team even worse, the Braves traded Gold Glove shortstop Andrelton Simmons to the Los Angeles Angels for Erick Aybar and two pitching prospects, one of which was Sean Newcomb, who has high upside. Unfortunately, that’s not something Braves fans want to hear right now.

Well, add another big name to the possible chopping block.

A short time ago, Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports reported that the Atlanta Braves are shopping first baseman Freddie Freeman. The former All-Star is arguably the team’s face of the franchise with little talent left on the roster. Injuries limited Freeman to just 118 games last year and is owed $116.5 million through 2021. The latter could be a reason for him going on the trade block.

This leaves the question of where could Freeman go? There’s many options, so let’s take a look at some of the best options for his services.
