Washington Redskins running back Matt Jones scored a 78-yard screen pass in Sunday’s matchup with the New Orleans Saints.

Wow. Redskins running back Matt Jones has just exploded on a 78-yard touchdown reception. Kirk Cousins set up the screen and popped it off to Jones. Jones was then able to take advantage of some excellent man-to-man blocking to weave down the right sideline and into the end zone. What a fantastic touchdown, showcasing all of Jones’ talent.

The Saints are not renowned for their stout defense, and the Redskins have been able to capitalize. In what looks like to be a shoot out, the Saints and Redskins’ offenses have been on fire, making plays all over the field. The Redskins now lead 21-14 and Sunday’s game looks that as though it could be a cracker between two porous defenses.

Kirk Cousins opened up the game with an impressive opening drive, finally finding tight end Jordan Reed in the end zone for a 16-yard reception. Unfortunately for the home side, Drew Brees continued his impressive streak, driving his Saints down the field and finding Cooks in the end zone. In the ongoing shootout, Cousins then took his turn once again to find Jamison Crowder in the closing stages of the first quarter. Brees then found Cooks once again on a 60-yard bomb to tie the game at 14-14.

It was at this point that the madness continued, when Cousins released Matt Jones and let him do his thing. In what is the most exciting game of the weekend, it looks as though it could go right down to the wire.
