Peyton Manning is broken, which means Brock Osweiler will be getting the start in Week 11.

It was a rough week this past Sunday for Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning, who turned in one of the worst games of this career. Despite this, he managed to break the all-time passing yards record and continued to pile up his career statistics in a loss to the Chiefs.

Part of the reason why Manning was so atrocious centered around the fact that he was dealing with plantar fasciitis, an injury that not only took him out of the contest on Sunday but will keep him out of Week 11 as well. According to Broncos beat writer Mike Klis, Brock Osweiler will get the start against the Bears.

This isn’t all that surprising, especially given how awful Manning played on Sunday but it’s still a little weird to hear Manning is missing a game. He’s been consistent in his career in not missing games, even after he needed surgery to fuse his spinal cord together — something that ended his tenure with the Colts.

But Peyton isn’t a young quarterback anymore and father time is starting to catch up to him in bad way. This might not be the official start of the Osweiler era in Denver but it’s one step closer to the world seeing that the Manning era is going to be over sooner than we all thought.
