Cubs’ Kris Bryant named 2015 NL Rookie of the Year

In news that should not really come as a shock to anyone, Chicago Cubs star Kris Bryant has been named the National League Rookie of the Year

Coming into the 2015 Major League Baseball season, there were a lot of eyes on the youngsters in baseball, but there might not have been more eyes on anyone than Chicago Cubs star Kris Bryant. Despite not even being a member of the Cubs roster when the season began, most of the talk centered around what he could do when he got up to the big time.

Well, he eventually did come up to the big time and he proved everyone correct in regards to his ability on the field. He did so well, in fact, that he was named the unanimous National League Rookie of the Year on Monday.


When you look at just the numbers above, no one in their right mind should wonder why Bryant got the nod for the prestigious award here on Monday.

Since coming up to the roster not long after the 2015 season got underway, he’s done nothing but prove what a valuable asset he can be to the future of this franchise. He wasn’t just masterful at the plate, but he made some incredible plays in the field as well, showing flashes of being one of the best players in the game for the next decade to come.

Not to mention, he was crucial in leading this team to the NLCS in 2015, which by all estimations was ahead of their schedule.

Kris Bryant didn’t get a World Series trophy in 2015, but he will be getting a Rookie of the Year trophy to start.
