The 2015-16 NCAA Men’s College Basketball season is about to get underway, and the biggest match-up of the season is arguably right off the bat

It’s the middle of November, fall is in full force, and that means that savory, high profile college basketball match-ups are on the horizon.

Up to bat first? Coach K’s 2014-15 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball National Champion Duke Blue Devils will be taking on John Calipari and the vaunted Kentucky Wildcats.

Tuesday’s game takes place from the United Center in Chicago as part of this year’s Champions Classic; along with Michigan State vs. Kansas. Lexington is already preparing for tomorrow’s showdown, and has fired the first shot on Twitter directly towards Coach K:

The Wildcats own a winning record against the Blue Devils all-time with a mark of 11-9, however, the program has lost their last three to the ACC powerhouse. Both teams enter this game ranked in the top five in both the Associated Press and USA Today Coaches’ Poll.

Kentucky fell two games short of achieving perfection last season. After bowing out to Wisconsin in the National Semifinal, the Wildcats lost predominantly their entire team, including center Karl-Anthony Towns to the tune of the first-overall selection in the 2015 NBA Draft. Duke handily took care of a semi-Cinderella run from No. 7 seed Michigan State, and in a battle of No. 1 seeds for the National Championship, defeated Bo Ryan, Frank Kaminskey, Sam Dekker and Co. 68-63 for the program’s fifth National Championship — all under Coach K’s tenure.

Kentucky’s out-of-conference schedule this season is arguably the toughest in the nation. They draw the defending National Champions on Nov. 17, travel to UCLA on Dec. 3 and host Ohio State on Dec. 19. We’ll know more about the Wildcats in the first month of the season more than we know what gifts we’re expecting for the holidays.

As for Duke? There’s always this, but time for celebration has officially run out.
