Bret Bielema has a quote for the ages about the Arkansas Razorbacks’ 31-14 beat down of their SEC West nemesis, LSU Tigers on Saturday.
The Arkansas Razorbacks earned bowl eligibility for the second straight season under head coach Bret Bielema, after clobbering rival LSU at Tiger Stadium Saturday night, 31-14 in the Battle for the Golden Boot. Bielema let Arkansas Sports Talk radio host Bo Mattingly know how he really feels about the Hogs’ crushing victory over the Tigers in Death Valley.
Bielema: I’m glad the score stayed 31-14 Saturday so people who didn’t watch the game knew it was a whooping.

Bielema should feel super confident about his football team. His Razorbacks destroyed what was a College Football Playoff contender at their place to effectively end LSU’s season. Arkansas-LSU is a major rivalry for both schools.
Before the SEC added Missouri and Texas A&M to the conference in 2012, the Battle for the Golden Boot was the Thanksgiving Week game for both Arkansas and LSU. LSU now plays Texas A&M, while Arkansas faces Missouri in the new Battle Line rivalry.
The Arkansas Razorbacks, besides the Alabama Crimson Tide, are probably playing the best football of any team in the SEC as the back half of November is under way. Arkansas has won four straight games since losing to Alabama on October 10th.
Bret Bielema can feel cocky about his team who already has four SEC west wins with two more conference games remaining. After starting the year out 2-4, who would have thought that Arkansas could become the second best team in the SEC West behind only Alabama? The Hogs can finish the 2015 regular season at 8-4 (6-2).
Their non-conference losses to Toledo and Texas Tech don’t help, but Arkansas still has an outside chance at finishing in the AP Top 25 should they win out with a 9-4 (6-2) record. Mississippi State and Missouri can’t feel good about playing Bret Bielema’s Arkansas Razorbacks in the next two weeks. It seems like the Hogs have hit their stride in 2015.
