Boston Celtics guard Avery Bradley took flight against the Dallas Mavericks to put back a putback jam and gave his team a 62-56 lead.

Guards are usually not the kind of players who you’d expect to finish a put-back dunk. Apparently Avery Bradley did not get that memo because he flew through the air to finish an impressive put-back jam against the Dallas Mavericks.

The Mavericks wanted no part of Avery Bradley sprinting to the basket and finishing that jam.

Bradley was drafted by the Boston Celtics in the first round of the 2010 NBA draft. He was the 19th overall selection. In 27.3 minutes per game entering Wednesday’s action, Bradley is averaging 12.4 points per game and a career-high 2.5 assists per game. He’s also averaging 2.6 rebounds per game with a 42.7% field goal percentage. He is ninth on the Celtics with a 13.3 PER.

Over his career, Bradley is averaging 10.5 points per game. He’s also averaging 1.5 assists per game and 2.5 rebounds per game. He has a career 43.4% field goal percentage. Bradley has mostly been a starter this season. The past three games (including tonight), he has come off the bench. He has 35 points in his first two games off the bench as a scoring option. Perhaps Bradley has finally found his role in the NBA.
