Dallas Keuchel wins 2015 AL Cy Young

Houston Astros ace Dallas Keuchel is the 2o15 AL Cy Young winner, beating out Toronto Blue Jays pitcher David Price.

The winner of the 2015 AL Cy Young has been named, and in a season with two deserving candidates, the writers have voted Houston Astros ace Dallas Keuchel as the latest winner of the most prestigious award in pitching. Keuchel is the latest join the legendary names that have won the Cy Young award.

Keuchel won 20 games for the Astros in 2015, helping a young Houston team defy the expectations and win the AL Wild Card before losing to the Kansas City Royals in the ALDS. Keuchel also posted a 2.48 ERA as the workhorse for the Astros emergence this season.

The Astros star beat out Toronto Blue Jays star David Price, who joined Toronto at the trade deadline from the Detroit Tigers and was unstoppable in the second half of the season in helping his new team win the AL East. The voters giving Price just eight first place votes to Keuchel’s 22 first place votes.

Keuchel is a deserving winner of the AL Cy Young and with his 20 wins all on one team he helped to the playoffs it is hard to argue that he wasn’t the top as well as most valuable pitcher in the American League this season. Now confirmed as one of the best pitchers in baseball, the pressure is going to be on Keuchel to match his 2015 season after winning his first Cy Young.
