The Jacksonville Jaguars are hosting the Tennessee Titans at EverBank Field on Thursday Night Football, in what can only be described as a game that will test your will to live. Jacksonville is favored by 2.5 points in this shindig, which means Vegas actually believes the Titans are the better team since the home-field advantage counts for three points.

It’s a surprising line to be frank. Tennessee is 2-7 and has shown very little in terms of life. The Titans are playing bad football, but that was to be expected with a first-year quarterback in Marcus Mariota. Then, the front office decided to fire head coach Ken Whisenhunt midway through the campaign, replacing him on an interim basis with Mike Mularkey.

Meanwhile, Jacksonville is trying to get something accomplished for the first time in ages. The Jaguars are 3-6 and with a win, would actually be just a half-game back in perhaps the worst division ever assembled. When you consider that the Indianapolis Colts are starting Matt Hasselbeck at quarterback for the foreseeable future, you know there is a chance.

Think about this: the starting quarterbacks in the AFC South at this moment are Hasselbeck, Mariota, Blake Bortles and T.J. Yates. Wow.

As for the betting trends, the clear choice is to take Jacksonville and swallow the points, per OddsShark. The Jaguars have covered the spread in four of their last six games, while Tennessee has failed to cover in 18 of its last 24 contests. While betting on the Jaguars is usually the move of a fool, it seems to be the wise play in this scenario.
