Sam Bradford will not be returning to the field for a while after leaving the Eagles’ last game with a separated shoulder.
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford can never seem to catch a break when it comes to injuries, and this season has become no different. Although Bradford made it through the Eagles’ first eight games without a scratch, he suffered a separated shoulder injury while he will also have to go through concussion protocol. According to NJ.com, Bradford has officially been ruled out for the Eagles’ next two games.
It remains to be seen whether Bradford will return from his injury after these next two games, but the Eagles have a viable backup in Mark Sanchez who offers plenty of starting experience, despite his struggles as a starter. He showed flashes of brilliance at times in 2014, but he was ultimately unable to keep the Eagles in the playoff mix after a 7-2 start as they endured a costly three-game losing streak. The Eagles are scheduled to play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Detroit Lions, whom they will face on Thanksgiving Day.
Thanks to a New England Patriots comeback victory over the New York Giants, the Eagles remain in the hunt for the NFC East title despite holding a 4-5 record. The Eagles are still one game behind the Giants, who are 5-5. Winning their next two games without Bradford is not out of the question since the Buccaneers and Lions have not proven to be threatening teams. However, they will have to take on the Patriots in Dec. 6, which is Bradford’s return date at this point. Games against the Arizona Cardinals and Giants are also ahead for the Eagles.
