Titans at Jaguars: Full highlights and final score
The Jacksonville Jaguars beat the Tennessee Titans on Thursday Night Football.
The Jacksonville Jaguars moved to within a half-game of first place in the woeful AFC South on Thursday night, beating the Tennessee Titans, 19-13, under the lights at EverBank Field. Jacksonville was trailing 13-9 going into the fourth quarter, but rallied for 10 unanswered points.
The game was billed as a battle between two first-round quarterbacks, with Jacksonville’s Blake Bortles in his second season and Tennessee’s Marcus Mariota in his first. Both played reasonably well, with Bortles making the only huge mistake with a red zone interception. The offensive lines did not help either youngster, allowing a total of seven sacks.
Highlights
Three Stars
1. Chad Henne’s mustache
Go click on the highlight above. Did you see that freaking thing? That is the ultimate crop-duster. When Henne finally retires and moves on from football, he can go to his true calling of either adult films or a show about cops in the 1970s. There is facial hair, and then there is Henne’s piece of art.
2. Allen Robinson
This game did not have too many stars playing in it, but Robinson has really emerged as one of the best players in the league in his a second season. On Thursday night, Robinson caught five passes on seven targets for 113 yards. Robinson is well on his way to an 1,000-yard campaign with 871 yards through 10 games.
3. Delanie Walker
Walker is quietly one of the best tight ends in football, thriving in a Titans uniform since coming over from San Francisco. Against Jacksonville, Walker caught eight passes for 113 yards, giving Mariota a nice, reliable target across the middle and down the seam.
Odds
Jacksonville was favored by 2.5 points and covered the spread in a win over Tennessee.
Next Week
The Jaguars will welcome the San Diego Chargers into EverBank Field while the Titans play host to the Oakland Raiders at LP Field.
