Arizona Cardinals starting quarterback Carson Palmer has been fined for doing something in celebration after last Sunday’s game.
The most recent Sunday Night Football game featured a hard-fought contest between the Arizona Cardinals and the Seattle Seahawks, where it looked like the Cardinals were about to lose. However, they were able to survive in the end and defeat the Seahawks, 39-32.
As the game was about to end, Cardinals starting quarterback Carson Palmer directed a pelvic thrust at the Seahawks fans, who may have yelled something at him from the stands.
Unfortunately for Palmer, the thrust was caught on camera by the NFL, and they have fined him for doing it.
According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, the NFL has handed out an $11,576 fine to Palmer for this action at the end of the game. They cited this as unsportsmanlike conduct.
While Palmer was trying to have fun out there, the move can come off as a sexual gesture. If you watched WWE, Road Dogg was famous for doing this and using two particular words to go along with it.
We’ll see if Palmer does this again, as the Cardinals will once again play on Sunday Night Football against the Andy Dalton-led Cincinnati Bengals. Dalton was involved in his own post-game controversy last week when he called out Houston Texans defensive star J.J. Watt for comments made in an interview. Maybe these two can duke it out in a battle of past and present Cincinnati quarterbacks.
