Draymond Green pulled the Warriors within six of the Clippers with a buzzer-beater to end the third quarter
The Golden State Warriors got absolutely smacked in the mouth in the first half of their Thursday night clash with the Los Angeles Clippers. Chris Paul came out of the gate looking to prove a point and did so as he and the Clippers got out to a 16-point lead in the first quarter, got out to a 23-point lead at one point, and took a 14-point cushion into halftime. Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and the Warriors weren’t going to let that stand.
Golden State began a furious comeback in the third quarter. However, the Clippers started finding some answers near the end of the period. With momentum hanging in the balance right before the end of the quarter, Ian Clark pushed the ball up the floor with time winding down and dished to a wide-open Draymond in the corner. Ever confident, Green fired up the triple and held his follow-through as it fell through the net:
That three from Green cut the Clippers lead to just six points heading into the final period. It looked almost like a foregone conclusion that the 12-0 Warriors were going to suffer their first loss of the year in the first half. With the third quarter swinging in Golden State’s favor and Draymond hitting that three, 13-0 is still very much in reach for the Warriors.
