California Golden Bears vs. Stanford Cardinal
One of the fiercest rivalries in the Pac-12 will be renewed when the California Golden Bears visit the No. 11 Stanford Cardinal on Saturday night at Stanford Stadium.
The Cardinal looked to be in position to qualify for the College Football Playoff before suffering a 38-36 loss against Oregon last week. While its playoff aspersions are all but gone, Stanford can clinch the Pac-12 North with a victory over its bitter rival on Saturday.
Running back Christian McCaffrey powers a Cardinal offense that has put up at least 30 points in eight consecutive weeks after a tough start to the year against Northwestern. McCaffrey leads the nation with 2, 418 total yard and is on pace to turn in one of the most productive seasons by a college player ever.
Cal snapped a four-game losing streak last Saturday with an easy win over Oregon State. The Golden Bears are already bowl eligible at 6-4, but could improve their standing and would love to knock their biggest rival out of the Pac-12 title game.
Quarterback Jared Goff will look to continue his strong season and potentially improve his draft stock against a talented defense. The key will be on the other side of the ball for their Golden Bears, as their defense will be challenged against McCaffrey and company.
Saturday’s game begins at 10:30 PM eastern on ESPN and can be streamed live on the WatchESPN app. Further details for the game are below:
