new orleans pelicans. 4. team. 69. At some point, we knew that the Pelicans would begin to climb out of the desert, and perhaps Friday night will serve as the turning point for Anthony Davis and company. New Orleans rolled through the San Antonio Spurs to the tune of a 14-point home win, and while that marks only the second victory of the year for the Pelicans, it is easy to see the path for recovery.
Davis is, well, very good at basketball, and if the Pelicans can deploy anything resembling a healthy roster, they will be more concerned with a playoff spot than inclusion in these rankings. We can’t omit a team that sits at 2-11, but New Orleans may escape for good if they can build off an important win from Friday.
. . Previous:

20. The Lakers are the worst team in the West right now, and I’m not sure that is changing any time soon. Los Angeles did snap a four-game losing streak this week with a nice home win over the Pistons, but Byron Scott’s crew immediately followed that up with a 19-point loss to the Suns and a blown second-half lead against the Raptors.
It is hard to pinpoint anything that the Lakers do well, as they rank in the bottom five on both offense and defense. To make matters worse, or at least more interesting, Kobe Bryant still doesn’t resemble Kobe Bryant, and Los Angeles refuses to deploy young lineups that would help the franchise move toward the future. In short, there isn’t a lot to cheer for at the Staples Center on nights when the Clippers aren’t in action.
. . Previous: . los angeles lakers. 3. team
