No. 20 Northwestern Wildcats vs. No. 25 Wisconsin Badgers
No one was really prepared for just how good the Northwestern Wildcats would be in 2015. Coming into the year with a new quarterback and question marks surrounding the offense, the Wildcats have silenced critics on their way to an 8-2 start to the year. Heck, most people probably didn’t think Northwestern would even make it to seven wins.
Clayton Thorson has done a decent job at quarterback for Northwestern even though he isn’t putting up world class numbers and the defense has been one of the best in the Big Ten. The Wildcats aren’t going to make the College Football Playoff, or even the Big Ten title game, but a win over Wisconsin would put them in second place in the Big Ten West.
Just like the Wildcats, no one really knew what to expect from the Badgers. Joel Stave had been a constant underachiever for the past few seasons and Corey Clement would be replacing one of the best running backs in school history in Melvin Gordon who also replaced one of the best in Wisconsin history in Montee Ball.
Clement has been injured for most of the season, but he has come back and performed well enough to help the Badgers achieve an 8-2 record. Stave has been much better than advertised at the beginning of the year and this team is hoping for a miracle to make the conference title game — the Badgers need two Iowa losses to end the year.
