Twitter went in on the SEC Saturday afternoon, and it’s hard to blame the Twitterati.

Start the chant!

S-E-C!

S-E-C!

Yeah baby, the best conference in all the land was all set for Cupcake Weekend – that annual tradition where damn near everyone in the SEC pads their schedule with a gimme before the regular season finale. It’s a special part of the year where SEC apologists can thumb their nose at the rest of the country, while Southeastern Conference haters kvetch about BS scheduling.

And yet, through the first half of Saturday’s noontime games things weren’t working out so well for them boys down south. Florida spent 30 minutes throwing up on itself in a home contest against Florida Atlantic. Meanwhile, South Carolina looked like not even the second best team in the state, as the Gamecocks went into the half down to The Citadel.

As you can imagine, the good folks of Twitter had some opinions on such a disgusting display of football. The snark and smarm was off the charts. Take it away, Twitterati!
